Two things decide the fare
Size tier and road distance. That is the whole model. A small parcel going three kilometres costs less than a large one going twenty, and there is nothing else in the calculation — no fuel surcharge, no peak-hour multiplier, no rounding up to the next slab.

What does not change the price
The time of day. There is no surge, so a 7 pm booking on a Friday costs what the same trip costs on a Tuesday morning.
How busy the fleet is. Capacity affects which windows are offered to you, not what you pay for them.
What is inside, within the rules. A parcel of documents and a parcel of the same size holding a phone charger cost the same.
When you are charged
Not at booking. The fare is committed when a runner accepts the job, and if nobody accepts, nothing is deducted. Cancel before that point and it costs nothing at all.
If the recipient cannot be found, only the delivery leg is charged — the return trip is not billed on top.
Why a fixed quote matters more than a low headline
Local courier pricing is usually quoted as a range — a rate for the first half-kilo, another for each additional slab, and a figure that firms up once someone has seen the parcel. That is workable for a business with an account and frustrating for a person sending one thing.
